Tryouts          Fall 2025

Tryouts for the Fall 2025 season will begin on Monday,

August 11, 2025, and will run for three days: Monday, Tuesday,

and Wednesday.

  • First cuts will be made on Tuesday.

  • Final cuts will be made on Wednesday.

  • First team practices will begin on Thursday, August 14, 2025.​

TRYOUT SCHEDULE:

  • Juniors, Seniors, and Invited Underclassmen: 4:00–6:00 PM

    • Please arrive by 3:30 PM to help set up nets. Tryouts will start promptly at 4:00 PM.

    • Underclassmen wear shirt color designated below if you're invited to this session. 

    • Juniors: wear a GREY t-shirt

    • Seniors: wear a PINK (or RED) t-shirt

  • Freshmen and Sophomores: 6:00–8:00 PM

    • Freshmen: wear a WHITE t-shirt

    • Sophomores: wear a BLUE t-shirt

REQUIREMENTS BEFORE TRYOUTS:

  • All players must have a completed Athletic Registration (opens on July 23, 2025) on file, including a current sports physical. Visit the Athletics page to submit your information and upload your physical.

  • The Athletic Fee of $185.00 must be paid to the Athletic Office. Visit the Booster website for more details on fees.

 

DURING TRYOUTS:

  • Tryouts are closed to spectators, including friends and parents.

  • Teams will be announced on Wednesday, the final day of tryouts. Team practices begin Thursday.

  • Practice times for each team are TBD and will be announced as soon as possible.

  • Be prepared: bring a water bottle, inhaler (if needed), knee pads, court shoes, and wear appropriate athletic gear.
    Not allowed: tank tops, jean shorts, Vans, Keds, or Converse.

  • Coaches will be evaluating:

    • Skill level

    • Work ethic

    • Attitude and coachability

    • Effort, energy, and ability to be a good teammate

These factors will all contribute to team placement.

 

Please note: We do not hold make-up tryouts for those who are unable to attend all or part of our tryouts. Missing any part of tryouts will impact team placement. Each day is a vital opportunity for evaluation.

What happens after  tryouts?

If you make a team...
Congratulations, and Welcome to Rebel Volleyball!  Team practice will begin the day after tryouts, and will be held Monday through Friday.  Matches begin in late August, and will continue through October. Matches are typically played on Tuesday and Thursday.  On nights we do not have  a match, teams will have practice.  
Mixed in with practice and matches, each team will have a tournament on Saturday.  Varsity has several Saturday tournaments - be sure to check the CALENDAR for updated information on all tournaments (JV & Var participate in a tournament over Fall Break - if you make one of these teams, you are required to be in attendance at the tournament).

If you did not make a team...

Team selections are a stressful process for athletes and coaches. We will have individual conversations with every athlete at tryouts and will explain why they didn't make a team this season.  If you would like to have a more detailed conversation with the coach, please reach out via email to schedule a meeting.  Please allow at least 24-hours after tryouts to contact us.

Team manager positions are available if you would still like to be part of Rebel Volleyball.  A team manger is part of the team and is expected to attend all practices, matches, and team events as scheduled.  She will help the coach and team with drills, taking stats at matches, supporting the program, etc.  If you think this is a good fit, please reach out to Coach Shelly to discuss being a Team Manager.
